The PUBLIC HEALTH / INTERDISCIPLINARY ACS

is 4-week selective that offers an opportunity to learn about the profession and practice of medicine in a community setting

• working with special populations
• participating in a service learning experience and
• exploring interdisciplinary team practice and public health

UTMB and University of Texas System leadership have approved a special option in health policy development for the months of February through May 2009. Students approved for placement in the health policy option will work during the 81^st Texas Legislative Session in the State Capitol office of a selected Senator or Representative to have a first-hand experience in the legislative process.
